Passport Activities
The Passport Online activities section contains forty enjoyable, interactive activities that are based on units from the Passport coursebook.

Two activities have been provided related to the theme of each unit of the text. Typically, there is a 'study phase' and a 'game phase', although the order varies. Each activity results in a score, and is designed so that students can repeat the activity until they have fully mastered the contents. Students can save or print a report of their Passport Online session, enabling you to monitor progress and time spent on the site. The website can be used in computer labs as the basis for pair and group work, or be used for self-study, either at school or from home.

The activities are also highly suitable for students using the other books in the Passport series: Passport to New Places, Passport Plus and Passport to Work, although they are not based on the actual units from these coursebooks.

The Menu Page
Students access activities from the Menu Page. They should first select the unit that they wish to study from the list on the right hand side of the screen by clicking on it with the mouse (left mouse button). Two activities for that unit appear in the center of the screen. Students select the activity they wish to study using the mouse.

Level of Difficulty
The activities have been graded for level of difficulty, as indicated by the colors used on the Menu page.

Activity Instructions
Each activity is accompanied by instructions in Japanese and English to help students if they get stuck. Instructions are accessed by clicking the button marked 'Instructions' in the top left hand corner of each screen.

Use the arrows at the bottom of the screen to move to the next or previous activity.

Notes
The notes typically provide translations of the structures and vocabulary used in the activity.

Report
Passport Online maintains a local record of a student's score on his or her computer for each activity, including information on how long the activity was used and what score was attained. This record is not permanent. If you want to view a student's record, ask him or her to print the record or save it to disk. Students can input their name and ID numbers (if they have them) into the boxes provided and click 'Save'. They should choose a name for the report file and choose the location in which to save it and then click 'Save'. A new file will be created and saved each time the website is used. You can open the files created in any web browser.

The contents of the page can also be copied and pasted into an e-mail message before closing the Passport Online window enabling students to email their results to you.
